The Mushroom Saga
The mushroom hunting story from the other day inspired me to do these. I kinda hate the final result.

Very Quick Sketch 3
Another entry in the quick sketches series. Experimented a little with highlights. Not too much, just very little.
Unfinished sketch
I is pretty far off the mark with this one so... I don't have the willpower to finish it. Besides... I have a feeling it is far more interesting like this.
Subject is Everything
I've been looking at lots of art, lately, and there is only one conclusion: subject is everything.
Everyone (or almost everyone) can paint really great! The only thing that sets talented people apart is their choice of what they want to paint. Or to photograph, for that mater. Or write about. Same thing there. (I think).
Add picture here...
Very Quick Sketch - 2
I kinda went beyond a quick sketch on this one. Just a little. And yes, she's playing with a bubblegum balloon.
Very Quick Sketch - 1
Apparently I don't have the stamina to do full portraits. I'll just limit myself to quick sketches, for a while, and maybe they'll develop later. Or maybe they won't. Here is number one.
Portrait of Sandra Bullock
Finished. Kinda. It is brighter than the original but... it's OK. I hate the fact that I'm using the pencil so much, though. It is less forgiving, one, and it is less inventive, two. Anyways. The original be here.
Portrait of Olivia Wilde - The Making Of
Some of the stages along the way. From bad to worse until finally kinda got it...
Portrait of Olivia Wilde
Calling it done. For now. They say that if you get the eyes right, the rest doesn't really mater. And they're right! (And I had them wrong!, until the very last minute. And she still looks a little to the left. Doesn't mater.). What a difference a few tiny dots of color make. Fascinating. The original be here.
Portrait of Olivia Wilde - Coming soon
I remembered why I stopped doing these things: because I kinda sucked!
But compared to whom? Or to what? Anyone? Anything? Ha! Ha!
Portrait of Michelle Pfeiffer - The Making Of
Several of the stages along the way. I forgot to make more but I think these will do.
Portrait of Michelle Pfeiffer - Coming Soon
Meaning it is taking far longer than anticipated. I'm a big fan and I wanna get it right. The original is here.
Kung Fu Panda - Po
Portrait of Charlize Theron
It is not perfect but... I'm pretty pleased (I hope she doesn't come after me to kill me). The original can be found at People.com.
